Producer DJ Paul Goodyear is an extraordinary DJ and an international phenomenon that has become a brand name in the industry. He regularly headlines some of the biggest entertainment events in the world. His style encapsulates an incredible range. During his sets he combines hypnotic tribal, dynamic disco, electro funk and house to create a signature style all his own. With many artists struggling to stay relevant as musical trends come and go and technology changes the playing field, Paul has shown a remarkable gift for not just staying abreast of these trends, but for contributing to them and shaping them himself.
Originally from Sydney and currently based in San Francisco Paul has been headlining the world's highest-profile clubs and parties for over 25 years. The Bay Area Reporter called Paul Goodyear a "world-renowned mix master." Dance Music Authority Magazine called him a "Disco dignitary" and Gay News Network labelled him a "DJ Sensation." Paul has made regular appearances at Sydney's annual GLBT Mardi Gras with audiences of up to 24,000 party goers; Euro-Pride in 2008; at the closing party of Nation04 Festival in Singapore; the coveted Fire Island Pines Party in 2002; Atlantis Events cruises since 2007; Folsom Street's Magnitude Party in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Gay Games held in Sydney in 2002.
Spinning since 1985 Paul came to greater recognition during Australia's Summer of Love in 1988 as a resident of the Rat and Bacchanalia dance parties held at the Hordern Pavilion. He held a long standing Saturday night residency in Australia playing from 1999 to 2006 at ARQ nightclub in Sydney. Here, he combined his love of the hi-NRG, circuit and disco styles to create an uplifting journey every Saturday night for 7 years. His infamous DJ sets at ARQ drew such a cult following that clubbers would often be seen in t-shirts bearing slogans such as "God is a DJ and his name is Paul Goodyear". It was during this time that he established himself as the master of the marathon set, with many of his solo sets lasting over 14 hours. Simultaneously and since, Paul played at high profile events all over the world, including throughout Australia, London, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Mexico, Beijing, Auckland and Madrid. Paul travels extensively and spins throughout the USA while also maintaining a monthly residency at Ghetto Disco @The EndUp in San Francisco.
Not only is Paul a respected DJ, he is a perfectionist wizard in the studio with his musical catalogue the envy of DJs from Milan to Miami. With 20 years experience and over 300 releases as a remixer, writer and producer. In addition to founding his own record labels "Ace DJ Remix Service" and "Tomcat Music", Paul has contributed to BMG, Universal, Sony Music, Central Station Records DMC, Centaur Music, Vapour Recordings, FFRR, Direct Hit, D1 Music and more. Paul's credits include remixes for singers such as Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Linda Clifford, Taylor Dayne, and Ultra Nate. The classic was originally sung by Olive and now features Caroline Lund. In keeping with his motto "Variety is the Spice of Life" Paul is also in the planning stages of another label focusing on the Deep and Gospel House sound.
